Friðarsúlan - Yoko Ono's Alien Portal?
As you probably know, The Imagine Peace Tower on
Viðey Island in Kollafjörður Bay (near Reykjavík) is a
memorial to John Lennon. And because his widow
Yoko Ono was in charge, it's kind of kookie.
At first glance, it's visually stunning--that big column
of light shooting into the heavens. But it reminds me
of that scene in Independence Day where those
zealots are on the rooftop, welcoming the aliens:

Then comes a big surprise when they're blasted
with a big white laser beam:
with a big white laser beam:
I'm not saying Yoko is up to anything sinister, but
she does plan to have the tower lit every year from
October 9th (Lennon's birthday), through December 8th
(the date he was shot.)
But why did she have it built in Iceland? Yoko claims,
"because of its beauty and its eco-friendly use of
geothermal energy." Or perhaps it was a certain
alignment with the stars?
If you'd like to find out for yourself, you've got another
week to check it out in full blaze. You can even pretend
it's Stonehenge, and perform a ritual. Or at least dance
a jig around it. Just be sure to watch your back. And if
the Mother Ship appears, get the hell out of there.
